This classic Swedish furniture series, designed by Börge Lindau & Bo Lindekrantz, was launched in 1968. S stood for steel but also for the S-shape and 70 stood for the idea that the series should become the furniture of the 70s.

S70 was a complete family of furniture and included twelve products, ranging from chair, stool, sofa, table and bed to coat hanger and ashtrays. The large-diameter steel tubing and bright colors were the perfect mix of pop culture and modernist
clarity, and this led to immediate global recognition. It was the late Sixties, revolution was in the air, and S70 surely came to changed things both for the designers and for the producer Lammhults. Through the S70 series, designers Börge Lindau and Bo
Lindekrantz brought their joyful, playful & colorful approach to the company with its extremely distinct, playful stand-out design, the series paved the way for the Lammhults of today, both in Sweden and internationally.

Both the barstool and the coat hanger have been in production since first launching back in 1968, and the sofa and easy chair were relaunched in 2012. The fact that these products still sell after five decades is clear evidence that sustainable,
long-lasting products can be created with distinct, timeless design with a strong feel for quality.

This year the classic S70 furniture series by Börge Lindau & Bo Lindekrantz is celebrating 50 years, and to mark this special occasion there will be an exhibition about the series at Form/Design Center in Malmö, Sweden during the summer, between June 15 and August 19. For more info please visit Form/Design Center
