Welcome to Milano Review 2010

In our showroom at Design Post we will show our latest news that were exhibited during the International Furniture Fair in Milan in April.
Amongst other products Millibar Soft Lounge easy chair will be exhibited. Designer Anya Sebton has developed a soft cushion to add new values to her existing Millibar Lounge easy chair.

When Stockholm Furniture Fair 2010 Guest of Honour Sir Paul Smith was asked to design a lounge for this year´s fair he chose to use Lammhults modular sofa Area, designed by Anya Sebton.

Lammhults will auction off some of these modules during the Clerkenwell Design Week in London, May 25-27. The money raised will be donated to Maggie´s Cancer Center to support their research and work with cancer patients.

For the 24th year in a row the international book fair, Salon International du Livre et de Presse, is held in Geneva, April 28 - May 2. Lammhults is the head sponsor of furniture in the Swedish stand arranged by the Swedish Consulate of Geneva.

This is a great opportunity Lammhults Möbel, especially since Anya Sebton´s basic idea for Area is to inspire to creativity and playfulness. Here we can see a great example of exactly that.

Area´s modules are held together by an innovative magnetic linking device, making it easy to create inspiring seating solutions which can be further enhanced using different colours and patterns. This is something that British fashion designer Paul Smith immediately picked up on. He will dress Area in various creative ways using different fabrics, among these some are of his own design for Maharam.

At this year´s Salone del Mobile Lammhults mainly presented the news from Stockholm Furniture Fair.

The very flexible modular sofa series Area, with magnetic link, was shown in different formations.

A new version of Sahara, Sahara Wood, easy chair and sofa also with a newly designed matching table was presented.

Also among the news was table series Funk, a great series that is applicable in any surrounding.

Important order for LAMMHULTS
Lammhults Möbel AB has received an order from Turkey corresponding to close to 10 million SEK.
Lammhults Möbel AB, subsidiary of Lammhults Design Group AB, has received an order for a hotel interior in Istanbul, Turkey. The order corresponds to close to 10 million SEK and is the largest order in the history of Lammhults Möbel.

För att bidra till en starkare designkultur och samtidigt söka morgondagens formgivare utlyser nu koncernen en omfattande designtävling inom dessa produktområden. Från varje deltävling kommer en finalist att utses. Dessa bidrag deltar i finalen, där det vinnande bidraget sätts i produktion och kommer att marknadsföras av något av koncernens bolag.

During July month we exclusively sponsored Stockholm Jazz Festival as the only furniture company.

 

Imprint won the Innovation Award at Mixology in London, Wednesday 18th of June. The innovation award recognises innovation in design, marketing or any area where new ways of thinking are valued. The judges assess such issues as use of new materials, new technologies or new aesthetic treatments which individually or together take the product design to a new level. The mix interiors awards are unique, judged by an independent panel of architects, specifies, consultants and key players in the Brittish office interiors industry. Imprint has earlier won the Innovation award as best of NeoCon.

Beginning the first of this year we have strengthened our presence in Germany with a permanent exhibition at Design Post in Cologne. Design Post is a very successful exhibition concept that showcases a number of internationally recognized premium brands from the design and interiors industry. The Design Post aesthetic harmonizes perfectly with the Lammhults image. Our exhibition at Design Post is an important base for us and it provides an opportunity to create events and exhibitions all year ‘round. The showroom is only a stone’s throw from the Cologne fair area, which gives us good exposure in connection with Orgatec and the Cologne Fair in January each year.

At Salone Internazionale del Mobile this year you found Lammhults in pavilion 12 stand D15, where we showed all the new products from the Stockholm Fair, as well as a couple of products specially produced in time for Milan. Together with Campus Air we showed a small café table for outdoor use. The table is a development of the Campus café table. We also showed the Newport sofa in a new fabric, with chrome base. The Milan stand, designed by Gunilla Allard, had a graphic expression with an orange accent. The concept for the exhibition was to show a wide assortment of our collection, older classics as well as new designs.

The decision to gather all our dynamism around Lammhults, which is our strongest brand, is based on a strategic choice of direction for the entire group’s operations. These will now
benefit from greater focus and increased specialisation. From having been a holding company with “design management” as the common denominator, we will be building our operations solely around furnishings and eyewear. As a direct consequence of our new direction, Expanda Design Group is changing its name to Lammhults Design Group.

The 2008 Stockholm Furniture Fair was a great success for Lammhults, judging from the response that we have gotten. The state-of-the-art Campus Air in polyamide received much praise, indicating that Lammhults continues to make the right decisions when it comes to materials and design. The Lammhults style was strongly visible with the bright, visually powerful stand, designed by Anya Sebton.

Every year the NeoCon furniture trade show in Chicago reviews hundreds of entrants in their Best of NeoCon competition. This year was Imprint’s year. Submitted by ICF, the Lammhults US importer, for consideration in the very competitive Guest Chair category, the Best of NeoCon jury examined the chair, listened to a very brief presentation and agreed that Imprint deserved more than just a chair award.

ICF was notified that Imprint had been elevated by the jury and would receive the Innovation Award, given to products that exceed all parameters in their evaluation.

The jury noted that Cellupress was a noteworthy industry advance and that Imprint brought this innovation to a market with heightened awareness of the environmental advantages in the process. Imprint joins Campus as a Best of NeoCon winner from Lammhults.

On hand to accept the award in Chicago were Claes Brechensbauer, President of Lammhults, and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen, co-designer of the chair.

Finn Juhl Architecture Prize till Johannes Foersom & Peter Hiort Lorenzen

Lammhults is pleased to announce that Johannes Foersom and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen have been awarded the 2005 Finn Juhl Architecture Prize. This prestigious prize honours the Danish furniture designer and architect Finn Juhl (1912 - 1989), a pioneer of Danish modern design, and includes a grant of 150,000 Danish kronor.

With this award, the jury has recognized Peter & Johannes for “their innovative and ambitious work with the design and development of furniture through the last 25 years.”

Johannes Foersom & Peter Hiort-Lorenzen have designed furniture for Lammhults since 1987. Their latest product, Imprint, was introduced at the Stockholm Furniture Fair this year. Imprint is made using CelluPress, a new material of their creation that is based on plant fibres, and is an example of the designers’ respect for the environment and the balance between good design and good comfort.
